Discussion:
Raising Stats Permanently?

Hi folks!

Playing NWN for the first time & having fun, but I have a question about
basic Stats (Str, Con, Dex, etc). For example, I know that you can drink a
potion before a tough fight and temporarily alter some of these numbers, but
is there any way to find/buy/earn something that would permanently raise
them?

Thanks in advance!

There are items that can be bought/found that will raise your stats as long
as you are wearing those items (like Dex+5 bracers). But again, once you
remove the item the +bonus is gone.

Taking levels in the Red Dragon Disciple class will *permanently* raise
certain stats.

The only other way to *permanently* raise your stats legit is by going up
levels.
1>Every 4 levels you go up, you can raise a stat by 1 point.
2>Epic Feats (Greater Wisdom = +1 Wisdom) allow you to raise a stat by 1
point & can be taken multiple times.

There are other ways to raise stats, but they are not legit.

Many thanks, Strongheart!

I knew about wearing/equipping items for their bonuses, but I was -not-
aware of the Leveling Up deal. Thanks, that's what I needed to hear!

Note that only base abilities (without equipment) count towards the
prerequisites of feats, so some care where to put the 10 level-up stat
points and how many of the Great <Attribute> feats you'll need is required.
