I solved OC with my Fighter1/Druid14. The guy can hold his own.
Don't you lose like 20% of your exp points if your levels aren't within 1 ?
I was tempted to make my rogue a wizard but didn't want the xp loss.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but they are STINGY in this game :)

only if one of those classes does not count as your Favored class. Favored class
takes that class out of the calculation for exp penalties.

human, half-elf, and dwarf would not receive any exp penalties for this combo,
because human and half-elf have Favored Class (Any) and dwarf has Favored Class
(Fighter).

Each race has a "favored class" which is ignored for this calculation. For
halfings, it's rogue, and wizard for elves, so if you're either of those
races, you could do the above combo with no penalty. Furthermore,
humans and half-elves get whichever class they have the most levels in as
"favored" automatically. So the particular combo you want is only a
problem for dwarves, gnomes, and half-elves.

Fighter is the favored class of dwarves, by the way, so Fighter/Druid
works well for them -- or for humans and half-elves, of course. (No races
favor druid.)

Of course, if you're lower level, you get more XP, so it balances out
pretty well.
