Anyone playing Swordflight?

Just curious if anyone was still around :)

Swordflight is shaping up to be an epic series. Author just put out chap III recently and it looks like it will go to 6 chapters. I'm in the later half of Chapt 2 (I think). Tons of quests and multiple paths (some not available to certain races/classes).

Some parts are a bit of a combat slog, I have a few minor nits/preferences, and you have to carry a ton of potions, but overall, interesting. Resting is prevented by the almost certain arrival of wandering monsters and when you awaken, you are slowed for a while.

Generally, I'm OK with this but it seems like you should be able to rest in a room where the only entrance(s) are secret doors - or at least zombies and other mindless undead should not be able to enter.

Ftr 9/Rog 3/SD 1 currently; specialized in Longsword but so far, best LS is +1. Other, better (non longsword) weapons are available. Magic availability is limited

Still around!

I haven't played any NWN 1 modules in a long time, though I still play some
NWN 2 stuff.

I have a hard time loving modules with no safe havens for resting, though
ones where you can rest anywhere are no fun either.

Are there any good rapiers?

Mark.

I really like the NWN2 graphics, but the modules are huge.

Yeah, I'm sure there's a better way. I think I've played modules where resting is restricted to once every xx hours. Maybe lowering the random encounters (at least outdoors) might help.

I know I have a two rapiers in my inventory that were worth keeping instead of selling. It's relatively low magic, so +2 with a little (d4) extra damage is the best weapon so far.

I don't recall exact enchantments on the rapiers, but the +2 shortsword with d4 negative energy damage is the best general weapon I have. One of the rapiers was close to that but slightly inferior in some way; the other is better but restricted by alignment (evil) so I'm not able to use it yet.

Hi Jack! Hi Mark!
(or should I say: Hail and well met! <g>)

I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn't seeing things --- a post in
the NWN group!? No wait, *3* posts!

Anyway, I wish I could help you out finding the "dropped/lost" item, that's
happened to me too occasionally over the years.

I play a Paladin (with 2 doses of Fighter to gain Power Attack/Cleave and
Exotic Weapons early on) and *loved* the Swordflight Series!
You may have even noticed some of my comments/pleas for help/etc... I had a
problem during Chapter 3 (can't remember what it was now) and started
playing another Mod in the meantime. I agree with both of your comments and
wish I could help, but it's nice to know that others are still playing NWN1
!! :-)

(I'm currently replaying "Tales of Arterra" and enjoying it even more than
the first go around!)

Hi Neil!

As far as I know, there was nothing like the NWN1 community for the sheer size and quality of user-mods :)

I started Swordlfight again (first time, had a crash when I was saving a game at the beginning of Chap 2, and lost the save game) when I ran into a game-stopping bug in the Aielund Saga - a dragon that is supposed to appear at the beginning of a module, doesn't

I'll likely be playing NWN1 (when I can) for the foreseeable future . . . there are so many good modules, by the time I finish several of the big ones, I've forgotten some of the ones I've already played!

And some have even changed a bit . . . I noticed that one of the sections of The Prophet had been revised by the author, since the previous time that I played it.
