My portrait is upside down :(

Hi all,

I was just trying to make my own portrait (from a movie screengrab, not
drawing it myself), and everything went fine - except that I didn't know the
bottom part couldn't be seen ingame. So I changed a little in the picture
(just moved it up so I had the whole picture in the area the game show and
then black space in the bottom), but this time the portrait is upside down
ingame. What gives? I don't think I did anything different the second time,
but obviously something must've happened. Anyone know anything about this?
The big picwhen choosing you portrait was fine but not the small one. And
not ingame either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

And as a side question: Does anybody know anything about copyright? I
thought if I get it working I'd put it up on NWvault so other people can use
it but is that legal? Or will New Line Cinema come after me? (specifically,
it's a pic of Cate Blanchett as Galadriel in Loth Lórien - the part where
she is fighting the power of the ring. It makes for a really good drow
portrait :)

TIA

Never mind, got this sorted out.

Still looking for info in this subject though.

Well, you could probably upload it w.out any problems. I doubt this would
even make it onto New Line's radar screen. They're probably more concerned
with people who are peddling boot-leg copies of the movie, than someone
who's making a single image from the movie available as an avatar for a
computer game.

However, just to be safe, I suggest you don a disguise before uploading.
Perhaps the Groucho Marx glasses, with the big nose & moustache?

You're probably right about this, but I would just like to avoid getting
angry e-mails from blood-thirsty lawyers.

NWVault is full of scores of (sometimes slightly modified) screencaps
from movies, publicity stills of celebrities, etc. I'm pretty sure
there are already some of Galadriel up there.

No it's not upside down. You have just used the wrong ascii character. A
proper smiley uses the bracket above the '0', like so:
:)

What you have there is a frowny or saddy. If flipped upside down then
you get this:
):

Which I'm not really sure what it is. Maybe it's a minotaur with horns?
A horny?

P.S. Must resist hitting send. It's only funny in my own mind. Gaahhhh!
